Delete account
Last updated on 11/09/2026
This page is informational. Deletion happens inside the Aurean app, and anyone who has already uninstalled it can request it by email. Here are both paths, what is erased and how long it takes.
1. How to delete with the app installed
Deletion is done by you, straight in the app, without having to ask anyone:
- open the Aurean app and sign in to your account;
- go to your account settings, through your profile;
- tap Delete account;
- confirm. The screen shows what will be erased before you confirm.
Once confirmed, the account is deactivated immediately, and the erasure of data follows the periods in section 5.
2. How to delete without the app installed
Uninstalling the app does not erase your account or your data. If you have already uninstalled it, or cannot sign in, request deletion by email:
- write to ola.aurean@gmail.com from the same email address registered with Aurean;
- use the subject line: Account deletion;
- state in the message that you want your account and all data tied to it deleted.
If the request arrives from an address other than the registered one, we get in touch to confirm the account is yours before erasing anything. It is a safeguard against someone deleting another person's account.
Prefer WhatsApp? That works too: +55 41 98532-2939. The ownership check applies just the same.
3. What is erased
Deleting the account erases from our active systems:
- the sign-up data: name or nickname, email, date of birth and anything else you provided;
- every entry in the emotional journal;
- every conversation with Aurean;
- the insights generated and the long-term memories built from what you wrote;
- the gamification progress: Karma, usage streak, Soul Fragments and collected items;
- your device's notification token and your notification preferences;
- the legal guardian's email, where there is one.
After that there is no recovering it. We keep no copy for reactivation.
4. What is not erased
Some things remain, either because the law requires it or because they are not with us:
- Access logs (date, time and IP address) are kept for at least 6 months, as required by art. 15 of the Brazilian Internet Civil Framework. That period runs even with the account already deleted.
- Tax and contractual records of the subscription are kept for the legal retention period.
- Already anonymised or aggregated data, which does not identify you and cannot be reversed, remains in the product's usage statistics.
- Your Google Play purchase history belongs to Google, not to us. For that, talk to the store.
Cancelling the subscription is not the same as deleting the account. Cancelling the Guardian plan is done in Google Play settings and only stops the charges. Deleting the account erases the data but does not cancel an active subscription on its own. If you want both, do both.
5. How long it takes
The timings are these:
- Request through the app: the account is deactivated immediately.
- Request by email: we confirm receipt and start the process within 15 days, the response deadline set by art. 19 of the LGPD.
- Complete erasure: within 30 days of the request, including journal, conversations, insights and long-term memories.
In every case, what section 4 lists as mandatory retention is excepted.
